Immersed in the green heart of Italy in Umbria, just 20 minutes drive from Roman medieval Todi, is a large and wonderful detached country house in a residential area of just a few properties surrounded by beautiful countryside with rolling hills clad with olive groves, sunflowers and awe inspiring vistas is Le Querce.  Set in a marvellous large garden of 900 sqm which includes mature shrubs and trees and the perfect place to relax and enjoy and explore the surrounding area with famous Umbrian towns all within 1 hour's drive away, such as Assisi, Perugia, Orvieto and Spoleto and a plethora of small medieval hill top towns within 30 minutes drive


Le Querce consists of 5 bedrooms and 4  bathrooms either with shower or bath and has the great advantage of having a balcony or terrace from all of the rooms on the first floor which include 2 bedrooms, kitchen and dining room.  The property is full of light and very comfortable and perfect for having aperitivo whilst watching the sun go down over the landscape.

Accommodation layout

 

Ground Floor

The ground floor consists of a living room with fine ceramic wood floors.  There are 2 bedrooms, each with individual bathrooms, one being ensuite with shower and  one with bath.  There is alsoan additional bathroom which has a bath.   There is a further room which can also be used as an additional bedroom or study together with  a charming sitting area with upholstered chairs.


First floor

A welcoming hallway where one will find on the right a wonderfully authentic, full of character dining room with feature fireplace and large antique table and chairs which leads out onto a lovely terrace which is adjoined to the kitchen, so both rooms have access independently to the terrace.  The fully fitted kitchen is off the dining room with dresser.    

There are two bedrooms on this floor, one bedroom with 2 single beds and balcony and a further bedroom with double bed and balcony.  The first floor contains one furnished bathroom with bath.       


Exterior

Double gated entrance driveway with garden full of mature trees and shrubs including large veranda/patio with table and chairs at the rear of the house and an old authentic pizza oven.


Cooking Lessons and options for Dinner

There is a great opportunity  to provide options for dinners prepared with absolutely local products and  the opportunity to participate in the preparation and to have all the explanations necessary, such as homemade pasta, polenta, gnocchi, bread, savory pizzas and desserts
Prices would vary depending on type of meal offered such as a fish or meat menu - chicken, game, wild boar and lamb directly cooked on the fireplace with side vegetable dishes and desert.   Pizza based dinners with vegetables, sausages, cheeses, side dishes and desert would be less.

Umbria Region

Umbria is an enchanting and mystical region which lies next to Tuscany and therefore in a most perfect location in central Italy. Known as the green heart of Italy, the region has a wonderful mixture of panorama,      rolling hills covered with vineyards, olive groves and fields of sunflowers, medieval hill towns dot the landscape,, mountains with pine forests and its lakes and waterfalls. Lake Trasimeno is no doubt a mystical lake, a favorite with Italians, where you can take a 15 minute boat ride to reach one of the Islands famous for lacemaking and lovely lakeside restaurants. World famous places such as Assisi, Orvieto, Perugia, Spoleto are just within 1 hour's drive away.  Also Deruta, home to the world famous Renaissance majolica-ceramics, only 20 minutes drive away. Umbrian olive oil is one of Italy's finest and its wines especially the renowned Orvieto Classico bianco, the wonderful Grechetto, a fantastic straw coloured wine and for a strong red, Montefalco Sagrantino will sure to impress the most discerning of wine buffs.   Umbria's cuisine, like Tuscany, is rustic and hearty, where in autumn months a plethora of tartufo/truffles, mushrooms, lentils are found widely available on restaurantmenus.
